When thinking about children’s higher education and the career they have to pursue after that, the good lessons of the movie ‘Taare Sameenpar’ come to mind. Those Hindi words meaning stars on earth mean that children are all bright stars. There are no children who do not shine in any field, just as there are no stars who do not shine. Taare Sameen Par is an exciting movie directed by famous filmmaker Aamir Khan. The plot of the movie can be summarized as follows:
The climax of the film is a teacher who realizes the reasons why some students are unable to adapt to traditional education and nurtures their inherent natural talents. Aamir Khan himself plays the role of Ramshankar as a teacher in the film. Son of an elite couple in the city, Ishaan lagged far behind in his studies and class exams. His mind was filled with uncontrollable hatred for the school he was studying. He found the subjects boring.
Ishaan’s classmates and teachers make fun of him. His parents controlled him. But his world was rich with many creatives. But he had no chance to express it. Ishaan’s father, Nandkishore, is a prominent official in the city. My mother had no special job. The couple was very disappointed about their son’s studies. They decided to put him in a boarding school.
As time moves on, the story begins to change as a new art teacher named Ramshankar takes charge at the school. The new art teacher sees the artist in Ishaan and encourages him. Ishaan, who was lagging behind in his studies in that institution, showed signs of change. Ishaan, who was lagging behind in his studies, came first in the school’s art competition. Then many gifts came for Nishan.
The plot of the movie Tare Sameen Par is about Ishaan, abandoned by his parents without any hope, who discovers his natural abilities and changes his life. The film Taare Sameen Par convinces us that every child born on earth has some kind of innate talent and their success lies in nurturing it. This film evokes that instead of trapping them in the iron cage made by their parents, they should be shown the horizon to fly.
Higher education is a problem
Higher education and employment of teenage children is a big problem that bothers many parents. If the children studying in 10th standard or Plus 2 do not get proper guidance, not only their future life will be ruined but parents’ expectations will be piled high. Children who are unemployed without drinking are more likely to get involved in drug gangs and crime. Whatever knowledge is useful to man is not acquired in vain. But the interest and aptitude to achieve it is important.
When we think about children’s employment, there are those who think that they should get jobs in the same way that we got jobs. Maybe we got the job due to the pressure of the situation or by chance. There must have been no proper planning for it. Similarly, in today’s competitive world, the apathetic attitude that our children will also get employment should not deceive us.
Earlier, children used to choose fields of study considering the job prospects. If you listen to someone’s advice and say that there is a good chance for that job, then you can put it aside. Some choose the same subject chosen by their classmates. Others choose the subject suggested by their parents. Thus, as a result of external pressures, students who enroll for higher studies may not be able to complete their studies.
Every child is as unique as their fingerprint. No child is too much here. Parents and their success is what they are seen to be good at. Discover and develop such natural abilities. Parents spend more time with them to understand this. Get down to the depths of their personality. Then you will know their taste.
Counseling institutes are conducting scientific aptitude tests to find out the abilities of children. It would be advisable to use their services. Observe which of the many subjects children are interested in. They will perform well in certain subjects.
Another factor to consider while preparing children for higher education is the financial status of the parents. Make sure you can pay the required amount till the end of your studies.
